Open Position
Lead Carpenter
Residential Additions & New Home Construction
We’re looking for an experienced Lead Carpenter to lead field construction on additions, major renovations, and new home builds.
This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who takes pride in quality work and knows how to keep a project moving.
What You’ll Do
Lead. Build. Deliver.
As Lead Carpenter, you will oversee and perform field construction while helping coordinate the daily work of carpenters, helpers, subcontractors, and trade partners.
Reading and building from architectural plans, structural drawings, detailed design plans, and elevations
Laying out and constructing additions and residential framing systems
Completing structural framing, including floor systems, walls, roofs, beams, headers, posts, and related components
Understanding how new construction ties into and affects an existing home
Planning daily work and assigning tasks to field team members
Supervising and coordinating subcontractors and trade partners onsite
Maintaining jobsite safety, cleanliness, organization, and protection of the homeowner’s property
Monitoring quality and correcting work that does not meet company standards
This is a hands-on leadership position. You will be expected to lead the work and perform carpentry, not simply supervise from the sidelines.

At least 10 years of hands-on residential construction or carpentry experience
Substantial experience constructing residential additions or new homes
Strong knowledge of wood framing and structural building components
Experience framing floors, walls, roofs, stairs, openings, beams, headers, and load paths
The ability to read and build from architectural and structural plans
Experience leading carpenters, helpers, subcontractors, or small field crews
You must have
Experience. Leadership. The Right Attitude.
Dependable, honest, respectful, and accountable.
Calm and solution-oriented when unexpected conditions arise
Organized and able to think several steps ahead
Confident leading a crew without being difficult to work with
Comfortable making field decisions and knowing when to involve the project manager
Detail-oriented without losing sight of the overall schedule
Professional in occupied homes and respectful of homeowners
Willing to teach less-experienced team members
Flexible and able to adapt as conditions change
Proud of their work and committed to delivering a high-quality finished project
Compensation & Benefits

$40 to $50 per hour, based on depth of experience and demonstrated ability
Overtime paid at time and a half for all hours over 40
Full-time, year-round work
Seven paid holidays
10 days of paid time off per year, available after your first 90 days
