For as long as Jessica Mihalisko can remember, her passion has been helping people. As managing partner at Slate Design & Remodel, Jessica makes a difference in her clients’ lives every day.
Fittingly, Jessica launched her career in Psychology, working at a psychiatric clinic before she decided something was missing. That something, as it turns out, was art. For Jessica, an art minor in college, the world of design always held great allure, but she didn’t realize she could translate her hobby into a full-time, service-driven career until she stumbled upon Corcoran College’s Interior Design Master’s Program. Fusing her creative instincts with her love of working with people, the remodeling industry was everything Jessica had been seeking.
After graduating, Jessica dove headfirst into her new career, starting out as a designer at Expo Design Center, where she developed her kitchen and bath design expertise. She then transitioned to FA Design & Build, where she helped build their burgeoning remodeling company from the ground up. Along the way, Jessica was promoted to lead designer and before ultimately becoming director.
Today, Jessica brings nearly 20 years of industry experience to her role at Slate. She devotes her days to planning and facilitating client projects to ensure a seamless execution and an exceptional client experience. For Jessica, her work is about so much more than the bottom line — it’s about making someone’s day even just a little bit brighter. Regardless of the remodeling project, she’s always focused on the people entrusting her with a prized possession: their home.
In her spare time, you can find Jessica getting outdoors, cooking, visiting breweries and wineries in Leesburg, or relaxing at home in Leesburg with her husband Steve and their toddler son.
